Article 12 Cookie policy, or so-called cookies

  1. Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser. The identification data is sent back to the server each time the browser sends a request to open a page located on the server. Cookies can be ‘persistent’ or ‘session’ cookies: persistent cookies will be stored by the web browser and will remain valid until a set expiry date, unless the user deletes them before the expiry date; a session cookie expires at the end of the user's session when the web browser is closed. Cookies do not normally contain any personally identifiable information about you, but the personal information we hold about you may be linked to information stored in and derived from cookies. We use both session and persistent cookies on our website.

  2. The names of the cookies we use on our website and the purposes for which they are used are set out below: We use Google Analytics and Adwords on our website to:

    1. recognise the computer when the user visits the site - to analyse the attractiveness of the company's offering.

    2. track users as they browse the site - to analyse the content of interest to users,

    3. enable the use of a shopping cart on the site - to make purchases,

    4. improve the usability of the website - to improve the usability of the website and change the content,

    5. analyse the use of the website - to study areas of interest in the company's products,

    6. manage the website - as the name suggests,

    7. prevent fraud and improve website security - for the purpose set out next,

    8. personalise the website for each user - in order to tailor the offer and enable it to be presented in an attractive way,

    9. target advertisements that may be of particular interest to specific users - in order to present related offers.

  1. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies - for example:

    1. in Internet Explorer (version 10), you can block cookies using the available cookie override settings by clicking on ‘Tools’, ‘Internet Options’, ‘Privacy’ and then ‘Advanced’;

    2. in Firefox (version 24), you can block all cookies by clicking ‘Tools’, ‘Options’, ‘Privacy’, selecting ‘Use custom settings for history’ from the drop-down menu and unchecking ‘Accept cookies from sites’; and

    3. in Chrome (version 29), you can block all cookies by opening the ‘Customise and control’ menu, clicking ‘Settings’, ‘Show advanced settings’ and ‘Content settings’, then selecting ‘Block sites from setting any data’ under the ‘Cookies’ heading.

  1. Blocking all cookies will have a negative impact on your ability to use many websites. If you block cookies, you will not be able to use all the features of our website.

  2. You can delete cookies already stored on your computer - for example:

    1. in Internet Explorer (version 10), you must manually delete cookies (instructions can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278835 );

    2. in Firefox (version 24), you can delete cookies by clicking on ‘Tools’, ‘Options’ and ‘Privacy’ and then selecting ‘Use custom settings for history’, clicking on ‘Show cookies’ and then clicking on ‘Delete all cookies’;

    3. and in Chrome (version 29), you can delete all cookies by opening the ‘Customise and control’ menu, clicking ‘Settings’, ‘Show advanced settings’ and ‘Clear browser data’, then selecting ‘Delete cookies and data of other sites and plug-ins’ before clicking ‘Clear browsing data’.

  3. Deleting cookies will have a negative impact on the usability of many websites.
